Well it's official, my last spring break as a college student has now come and gone. Don't worry I'm not crying, you're crying. I have to say, in contrast to many college spring breaks, all of mine have been relatively tame. I worked for my Freshman and Junior year spring breaks, studied abroad in Paris, France my Sophomore year, and for my Senior year I decided to go to Charleston, South Carolina. This is a place I had never visited before, and yet everyone I told said that it was one of the most beautiful city's, they weren't lying. Holy cow this place was an explosion of history and color. The architecture of the houses were insane, the food, the coffee shops, the shopping, EVERYTHING was glorious. I knew that in order to go to a place as beautiful as Charleston, I needed my outfit game to be on point. Since I went in early March I had to incorporate colors as best I could in 70 degree, and below, weather. So without further ado, here is my Charleston closet! Don't worry I've linked my outfit pieces down below for you to shop!

The first night we were in Charleston we decided to go explore and stumbled upon the cutest cafe/laundromat called Persimmon Cafe. It is located right by the College of Charleston (which is insanely beautiful btw) and has affordable gourmet sandwiches and salads. We had left Lexington, KY on wednesday at 10am and got down to Charleston around 6pm. So of course we had to find something pretty fast to eat. In the picture I am munching on what they called an "adult grilled cheese". Which means it had fancy cheeses, like Gouda, and granny smith apple slices. I would highly recommend trying it.  Now this sweater is one of my all time favorites, and guess what? IT'S ON SALE! This sweater is so flattering and soft! I like to tuck the front of it into black jeans or into a black skirt since it's nice and loose. It's perfect for Winter or those cooler Spring days and of course who doesn't need a new grey sweater? This one is from H&M and is marled grey in color with a mock neck and pearl beaded shoulders. Definitely a must have.

Thursday was our first official day in Charleston and the weather peaked at a cool 65, however it was sunny the entire day. We toured 2 of the famous mansions built in the 1700's: the Nathaniel-Russell House and the Aiken-Rhett House. Both were extremely large and extremely beautiful. The Nathaniel-Russell house had been restored, so the furniture and wall coloring was not what the family used, but reflected how a house in that time owned by people that wealthy would've looked. The Aiken-Rhett House however had been preserved and included all of the original wall coverings, furniture, and the original slave quarters. We late stumbled upon Rainbow Row, The Battery, and many other places so needless to say we did a lot of walking around. As for my outfit, since it was a little cooler I wore my Bar 3 ice blue leather jacket, a ribbed black Zara tank top, a colorful gingham neck scarf, cropped Levi jeans, a black belt, completed with my Adidas Superstar sneakers. This outfit was a perfect way to wear spring colors, yet stay warm at the same time. The ice blue leather jacket is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I am a HUGE jacket girl, and I love ones that make a statement either with their design or color. This one has a draped look that was slightly cropped and crossed in the back.

Friday's outfit was probably my favorite of the whole trip to be honest. This was also the warmest day we were there (at 77 degrees) and it was a beautiful sunny day.  We went to Rainbow Row again (because the first time was an accident lol), as well as going to Wadamalaw Island for the Charleston Tea Plantation and Deep Water Winery. We did less walking this day so I decided to break out my staple white booties, however I did keep my Adidas in the car just in case. I am a big fan of graphic tees and I honestly don't own enough of them. I ordered this light pink "yes girl yes" tee specifically for spring break and it came the day before we left. It is from a company called Tees and Tank You (cutest name ever) and I discovered them on Instagram. They have the cutest feed AND design all of their own graphics! I decided to pair it with a leather mini skirt from Express, silver sparkle crew socks, white booties, gold hoop earrings, tied together with a polka dot watermelon colored neck scarf. I just love all the different textures and colors that make up this look, which can easily be recreated with items in your wardrobe!

Our last full day was St. Paddy's Day. The holiday that gives everyone an excuse to wear green and drink lots of green beer (only for the 21+ peeps ;) ). Since this was a very festive day I had to break out my green shirt and do all things that incorporated green. That means going to a coffee shop that had an awesome green backdrop and furniture. For this day of Irish celebration I wore a green shirt that said, "do you think doing alcohol is cool?" (yes it is a quote from The Office). It is from one of my favorite local shops that makes the best graphic tees, as well as University of Kentucky tees. I paired this hilarious top with a Levi's denim jacket, tucked into black ripped jeans from Zara, a tacky green beaded necklace, and my Adidas Superstars. Let's just say that I had a blast on St. Paddy's. Even though it was kind of cool and rained a little, we still were able to venture to the City Market to check out all the local goodies before getting into our St. Paddy's shenanigans.

Overall I had the best time in Charleston and I am dying to go back because there is so much I didn't get to see (like all the beaches). If you haven't visited, I HIGHLY recommend that you do and don't forget to invite me!
